Site Safety Co-Ordinator 

Description

Taylors Contracting are currently negotiating an exciting large-scale earthworks project in the renewable energy sector in North Canterbury and are now seeking expressions of interest for the role of Site Safety Co-Ordinator. This role will be well supported by a Senior Safety Manager on the project.

This is your opportunity to contribute to a major infrastructure initiative that supports sustainable energy and helps to shape a greener future.

The duration of the project is estimated to be 2 years with a target start date towards the end of this year to maximise the summer earthworks season. This role will be on a 2 Year Fixed-Term contract.

For the right person, we are open to discuss supporting relocation for applicants outside of the Canterbury region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Promote, champion, and drive continual improvement and best practice in all aspects of Health and Safety
  • Ability to teach and educate staff / managers about safe and best practice
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Health and Safety systems and processes
  • Assist or undertake any necessary investigation and reporting of accidents, incidents, or near-misses in conjunction with the Senior Health and Safety Manager
  • Conduct safety inspections, audits and risk assessments
  • Coordinate and deliver safety inductions and toolbox talks
  • Maintain site safety records and documentation

You’ll bring with you:

  • Proven experience in a similar safety role
  • A passion for promoting and building a safe work environment
  • The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships to positively influence, encourage and support
  • The ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Health and Safety frameworks and legislation
  • Heavy industry experience desirable e.g. Mining or Manufacturing, including exposure to construction and/or earth moving industries
  • Excellent communication skills
